Competition Time !

The third Monday of January has been awarded the gloomy title due to a combination of post-Christmas blues, cold dark nights and the arrival of unpaid credit card bills.

Apparently, a university professor managed to precisely calculate the most depressing day of the year.

Supposedly the date was calculated by using many factors, including: weather conditions, debt level (the difference between debt accumulated and our ability to pay), time since Christmas, time since failing our new year’s resolutions, low motivational levels and feeling of a need to take action.

However, all may not be as it seems here, as it turns out this was in fact a PR stunt.

Competition.

However, many people do get down this time of year so if you would like a free place on my Glamping retreat, Waterhole Ritual clinic in May. Here’s what you need to do before Blue Monday 15th January post a short comment about the happiest moment you have shared with a horse.

You can win a Non horse place worth £100 or upgrade to a horse place or give it as a gift to someone.

Like the posts and the one with the most likes wins. Competition closes 5pm on Blue Monday! So not long!

Some of my blog readers are not on facebook so if you comment here I will share your comment on facebook so that others can like it.

Good luck and lets spread some happiness.

  1. Hi Jayne and all you wonderful lovers of Horse’! I’ll have a go:

The moment that has meant most to me is such a simple one that I feel a bit unsure how to convey what it means to me. One day I had the chance to visit the horse that I love the most*. I had become parted from him as he ‘belongs’ to people who own a business which had re-organised, and I had no way to stay in contact with him. 2 years later my chance came to be near the place and as i approached, William*, the horse who lives in my heart, came up to me and waited for me. I apparently did ‘nothing’ – yet I felt so much! I felt the most profound love and gratitude towards him and awe once more at being near him. He came and stood by me. Wherever I moved to, William came. We just stood together. I did nothing. He did nothing .. and together it felt like my heart would burst for the sure knowledge that the bond I feared I had imagined or embellished, was real. He moved away from the rest of the herd and he and I stood together a few yards away in a place of both everywhere and nowhere.

Gosh it was so hard to write this. For some reason I’m finding myself weeping. My heart seems too small to hold what this happiness is, and words seem a poor substitute!

  2. Thank you for your lovely comment Hila. Young Jack won with this …. ” Jack Shuldham Running along a woodland path with a galloping, bucking bronco, fat Shetland! Such fun, the freedom and simple enjoyment”
He stormed ahead with 17 likes, you were third with 7. You can’t beat a galloping shetland and a charming young man. Hope to see you soon. J x
